Book Review: I Am Pilgrim

I Am PilgrimAuthor: Terry Hayes

I decided to read this book solely because I heard a lot of good things about it and I had to see/read for myself and I’m glad it didn’t disappoint! It wasn’t exactly a page-turner type of read but it had me hooked from the beginning. It follows Scott Murdoch, code name Pilgrim, as he tries to piece together two murders and hunt down a man who’s planning to destroy America.

The entire story is told from the point of view of the protagonist who is intelligent and quick witted so its quite interesting to follow him as he navigates numerous countries and manages to maneuver quite a few close shaves.

I’m not necessarily a crime-fiction fan but this book is very well written and has an addictive quality to it. Considering the current situation in the world in terms of terrorism, this book makes you think about where terrorism could be headed given technological advancements. I’d give this book a rating of 4/5 stars.

And also I wouldn’t mind if this was made into a movie! 🙂
